Jon Ido Warden
As a Japanese-American growing up in the US, Jon Ido Warden has experienced first hand the cultural & identity struggles. However, instead of being bitter and resentful, he has turned this into his life’s calling and passion. Jon has done extensive work among Asian Americans and will deliver a 3-part series on Tending to our Brokenness.
Jon Warden is the founder and Director of Asian American Christian
Counseling Ministry, and has been working in Ministry in the Asian
American community for thirty years.
Jon received his Bachelor’s degree in Theology from Moody Bible
Institute, his Master of Divinity from Trinity Evangelical Divinity
School, his Master of Art, in Counseling Psychology, also from Trinity
Evangelical Divinity School, and is currently doing his Doctoral work
at Northern Illinois University.
Jon has been in clinical practice for nineteen years, has published an
article entitled “Internalized Shame Among Asian Americans”. Jon also
leads a Men’s Group called “Faith, Culture and Manhood”.
Jon grew up in a Japanese-Chinese blended family, enjoys golfing,
guitar and writing, and is
married to his wife MaryJane, and has a five and a half old daughter, Joelle.
